Who we are

Learn a little about who we are and what we’re about at the Anzal Foundation

When?

Anzal was a passion project that began as an unofficial group of good samaritans that hosted weekly events and programs way back in 2016. However, we've revamped and rebranded in 2023 as the Anzal Foundation.

Who?

Anzal Foundation was founded by Ismail Qasim as a way to better the environment he was in. As an immigrant, he had no choice but to live in low-income areas. After seeing the problems they faced, he had to do something to improve them and help others who similarly were newcomers.

Where?

Anzal primarily serves people in the Etobicoke area but is not limited to just there. We proudly work with any and all organizations and individuals all over the GTA and surrounding areas. However, our goal is to eventually be nationwide serving all major cities that are in need of our services.

What?

What we do is quite simple: empower the disenfranchised. From educating and situating newcomers to enabling and guiding the youth to aiding and counseling families. We believe we are only as strong as our weakest links. So we focus on those weak links that need a helping hand and a shoulder for support.

We are strong when we are one

Consider volunteering your time with Anzal Foundation and help us make a difference. Or if you’re too busy with life’s many responsibilities, consider donating instead. We could use your support. We are much stronger when we work together pooling all our strengths into one.

“Community is where kindness is contagious, dreams are nurtured, and the warmth of togetherness weaves our hearts together.”

No. We accept donations of many kinds. From monetary to foodstuffs, to used clothing and electronics, and even furniture. There’s plenty of need for your contributions of any kind. Please send us a message or call beforehand to know if your particular donation can be accommodated.

Excellent question. Anzal Foundation’s objective is ultimately to help the most vulnerable in our community. From newcomers to the young as well as struggling families. Any donations go towards uplifting and supporting struggling members of our local community. We are in the process of setting up our cold storage for food items that require temperature control, however, perishable foods are currently housed and handed out to those in need. This is also the case for donated non-food items. They all go directly back into our community whether as direct donations or services designed to benefit our community members such as our language and computer literacy courses our various workshops.
